    • John Wry was born about 1750 in , , Yorkshire, England and was christened on 10 Jun 1750 in Kirby Misperton, Yorkshire, , England. He died before 22 Sep 1824 in Sackville, Westmorland Co., NB. John married Phebe Maxwell in 1786.
      Wry, John, son of John Wry, chr. 10 Jun 1750, Kirby Misperton batch C064953/0452 (IGI, Yorkshire, England).
      John Wry emigrated from Yorkshire to Nova Scotia about 1780, and settled in Sackville. He bought from William Maxwell the farm on which the Brunswick House now stands and made his home there. The Maxwells were from New England, and had been in the country some years. John Wry married a Miss Maxwell. The late Christopher Wry of Jolicure was a son of John Wry. The Wrys of Sackville are descendants of John. (RB2).
      Died intestate. Had 19 children. Sailed from Hull, England for Halifax on March 1774 on the ship "Two Friends" with immigrants from Yorkshire, England. Age 23, weaver. (Milner's Records of hignecto)(RB7)
      Westmorland SS: To the Widow and all and every of the Heirs and Heiresses of the late John Wry of Sackville deceased. Whereas the said John Wry lately died Intestate as it said and application in due form of law has been made to me by George Wry and William Wry two of the next of kin of the said deceased for the Grant of the administration of all Singular the Goods, Chattels, Rigths & Credits of the said deceased to be made to them, You and each of you are therefore cited to appear before me at my office in Dorchester on Friday the 24th of September Instant, at 10 o'clock in the forenoon, then and there to shew cause if any you or either of you have why administration should not be granted to said George Wry and William Wry.
      Given under my hand and seal this (crossed out) at Dorchester this 22 September in the Year of Our
      Lord One Thousand eight hundred and twenty four.
