William Andrew Inhoff was born 24 July 1877 in Germany to John (Johannes?) Inhoff and Maria Resch. At the age of 14 William came to the US aboard the ship “Gera”,” disembarking in Baltimore, MD on 27 May 1891. I have not found any other family members on the ship manifest with whom he was travelling. William went to Hardin County, Ohio where he was naturalized on 29 Oct 1896.
On 11 Apr 1906 William married Ina Belle (“Bessie”) Goff, daughter of Lucius B Goff and Martha Maria Minter in Kenton, Hardin County, Ohio.
William and Bessie moved to Lima, Allen, Ohio where he was first a janitor at the Lima YMCA. Later he became a painter at a carriage factory in Lima.
Their only son, Bernard Clifton Inhoff, was born on 24 Dec 1910.
William died on 22 Dec 1918 in Lima, due to complications from lead poisoning. He is buried in the Grove Cemetery in Kenton, Hardin, Ohio.
